History

DWBC has been meeting monthly for over 40 years. Membership has grown from a handful of early pioneers to approximately 250 people in 2008 and it continues to grow! Each month our speakers are policy makers, stakeholders and candidates who are actively involved in current issues of importance to the democratic party. Recent speakers have included U.S. Senator Ken Salazar, Congressman Mark Udall, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party Pat Waak, Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald, House Majority Leader Alice Madden, CU Regent Cindy Carlisle, and other local and state leaders and candidates. In October of each year we host a Candidates luncheon, where State and County candidates present their platforms and interact with members. Each year the DWBC-Small Donor Committee makes campaign contributions to Democratic State and County candidates.
